The thing you have to realize is that you can get away with sounding pretty normal on a large variety of drugs. Most of the crazy stuff is happening internally, but you can generally keep it together.
Just look at high school. Or if you happen to work at a call center. I know several people that were drugged out of their minds during both. Some were supervisors, others earned good grades.

Liked the descriptions of how the character felt physically. However, I thought the character’s diaglogue with the preacher just sounded too nuanced for someone who is supposedlly so fucked up and is standing in 100 degree heat.
